Let's say you've already learned what it takes to create a website, but you've decided that you don't want to pay. Here's how to go about establishing a website without spending a dime.

 

1.     Find a free webhost. Choosing a webhost is tricky in general. The most important question to ask when you're choosing a free webhost is: how do they make money? If they're not making money from you, they must be making money from advertisements. What kinds of advertisements do they use?

2.     Register a sub-domain.A sub-domain will look like this: www.yourwebsitesname.yourwebhost.com

3.     Most free web hosts will have templates ready for use and don't require the knowledge of HTML or any kind of scripts. You can use these or use scripting (i.e. JavaScript) to design your website.

4.     Become your own publicist:

o    Gain Free Advertising for Your Website

o    Get Leads for Your Website (without Being Accused of Spamming)

o    Get Your Website Indexed by Google

5.     Start typing. Don't change the topic of your writing and make sure it's interesting or else the readers won't continue to read what you wrote.

6.     Put your website in Google, Yahoo, and other search engines. This will increase traffic. Also find other popular websites that are somewhat related to your website topic but aren't necassarily your competition and give them your link. You can also create a banner and link it to your website if you'd like.

 

      

1.     Design your website with a free WISYWIG (what you see is what you get) or learn how to create a simple webpage from scratch using HTML. You can also search for free templates online.

2.     Search for lists of free webhosts and visit them. Read what they can provide you and choose the best one for you. For example, if you are planning on uploading lots of pictures and videos, make sure you choose a webhost that provides enough space/capacity.

3.     Look at the webhost's FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) and read around the website to see what you add to your website, whether its codes or making a flash website.
